1964 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible

Power is provided by a replacement 1.2-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle, and equipment includes a driver-side mirror, running boards, and 15″ steel wheels. This Beetle is offered with a Volkswagen Museum Foundation vehicle identity certificate. The car left the factory finished in Poppy Red with a Silver Grey soft top, and the body was removed from the frame, stripped, fitted with replacement floor pans, and refinished in red as part of the refurbishment. Features include a replacement gray soft top, a driver-side mirror, running boards, Cibie headlights, and chrome bumpers with overriders.

Steel wheels wearing trim rings and Volkswagen-branded hubcaps are mounted with 5.60-15″ Denman Eleganté Premium Sports whitewall tires. Stopping power is provided by drum brakes at all four corners. The five-digit odometer shows 97k miles. The car was fitted with a replacement air-cooled 1.2L flat-four under previous ownership. The seller states that a replacement fuel line was fitted as part of the refurbishment, which also included replacing wiring and converting the electrical system to 12-volt operation. A vehicle identification certificate from Stiftung Auto Museum Volkswagen lists the factory colors and equipment along with a build date of March 20, 1964.
