Mercedes 240D 1981

1981 Mercedes-Benz 240D

This 1981 Mercedes-Benz 240D is powered by a 2.4-liter diesel inline-four paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes at each corner. The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in Sienna MB-Tex.

Interior features include an aftermarket stereo, hand-crank windows, a heater, and a locking glove box. Instrumentation consists of a 100-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level.

Documentation in the gallery notes that the speedometer was replaced in October 1996 at approximately 50k miles, and the replacement odometer shows 61k miles. The 2.4-liter OM616 diesel inline-four was factory rated at 67 horsepower and 97 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission.
