Mercedes 280SL- Red 1971

This was the first collectible car Ron bought, about 35 years ago. It had endured a small fire at the right rear corner, by the gas filler, likely set by a smoker while fueling. Ron bought it from the insurance company and repaired it, using only a taillight and right rear bumper, plus paint and bodywork. It’s one of his favorite cars that he drives a lot. Power comes from a 2.8L inline-six that is equipped with mechanical fuel injection and paired to a 4-speed automatic transmission.​
