1953 Volkswagen Beetle
1953 Volkswagen Beetle, extremely rare, 1st year of the oval window design. Lowest production model year of the oval window beetle as it was only produced for a few months as a true “oval,” earlier 1953 models (Zwitters) shared many features with the previous split window models.
It is powered by a 1131cc 25hp 4-cylinder engine with a split-case 4-speed transaxle. Engine correctly adorned with Solex 1-barrel carburetor, strap-over air-filter assembly, 6V system big nut generator, round regulator, and flat-top distributor. Certainly, one of the finest examples Extant. Runs and drives beautifully.
